Fun fact: Elizabeth calls her older sister Annabelle "Bananabelle
Felicity was the first new doll to be created after Pleasant Company was founded with Samantha Parkington, Kirsten Larson, and Molly McIntire. Her name was originally going to be 'Lucy'. She debuted at an event in Colonial Williamsburg in 1991 and was released soon after.
Brave and adventurous Felicity Merriman was the fourth doll from American Girl. She loves riding horses and doesn't like 'sitting down things' like sewing or housework. In her story, as the revolution against Britain looms, Felicity must make her own choice and see if she can be friends with loyalist Elizabeth as her family supports the patriots.
Felicity was removed from catalogs in 2002 after the debut of Kaya'aton'my. She returned to catalogs in 2005 to coincide with the release of Felicity: An American Girl Adventure, starring Shailene Woodley of Divergent fame as Felicity, and an Elizabeth doll. Felicity was retired in 2011 to make room for Cecile Rey and Marie-Grace Gardner. Felicity came back in 2017, on the same day of the release of Tenney Grant and Logan Everett. Felicity was quietly retired again at the end of 2019, presumably to make room for Courtney Moore.
