The holidays are coming up soon, and American Girl stores are having events to mark the occasion! Every day for 12 days, I will be posting all the holiday events at American Girl stores nationwide. First, we're focusing on my local store, Charlotte! (No, I didn't pick Charlotte first because it's my store. It's the first in alphabetical order.)
Giving Thanks Cards, Cocoa and Craft- November 12: "Create an unforgettable experience at this special holiday event! We’ll serve cookies and delicious cocoa for both kids and adults. Children will receive a festive turkey craft and the supplies to create special “giving thanks” cards while they sip their cocoa."
Festive Cookie Decorating- November 18: "Celebrate the season with a sweet treat! Your girl can get creative by decorating fall holiday cookies with festive frosting and sprinkles. Then take them home in a to-go box that she can embellish with stickers."
Gingerbread House Decorating- December 10: "Take part in one of the season’s tastiest traditions in an event your family will love—decorate a gingerbread house! This festive activity will include everything your girl needs to make a one-of-a-kind holiday centerpiece with gingerbread pieces, frosting, and lots of candy decorations."
Holly Jolly Private Shopping with Santa Meet & Greet- December 12: "Share a holiday experience that includes a jolly “ho-ho-ho!” Santa is coming to the store, and he can’t wait to meet you and your girl—so grab your girl’s wish list and get a jump on your holiday shopping at this private shopping event. Children will enjoy a festive penguin craft followed by holiday cookie decorating. Your girl will be able to take her cookie creations home in a to-go box that she can embellish with stickers."
PJ Story Time with Milk, Cookies and Craft- December 17: "Your girl will love this very special holiday story time—she and her doll can come in their favorite PJs! We’ll serve a selection of delectable cookies and delicious drinks for both kids and adults. After story time, girls will enjoy a festive penguin craft."
Tomorrow, I will be highlighting the events at the Chicago store for this holiday season!
Sounds cute, but it seems a little…young. And repetitive. Most have to do with, well, treats and a chance to advertise? They’re sweet, but…the First seems to have the most time spent, and after that it’s slowly getting a lot less original.
Any livestreams of the events?
