UPDATE- JULY 12, 2016= Girl of the Year 2017's name is Tenney Grant, and she is going to be African-American! Proof is, her book author is African American, too!
This is Teresa E. Harris!
Woah! Since we have so much information on Lea (GOTY 2016), it's time to start thinking of GOTY 2017! When I met Mary Casanova in June at AGP Charlotte (I was first in line!), I asked her a question. Me: "I know that you did Jess in 2006, Chrissa in 2009, McKenna in 2012 and Grace in 2015."
Mary: (signs my books) "Yes?"
Me: "Well, will you do Girl of the Year 2018's books?"
Mary: "I'll find out next summer!"
Inferring from what Mary said, AG probably found the author for GOTY 2017's books and thought of a simple plot this summer. So, we can start thinking of basic stuff, like names!
We have quite a few names now, like Barbara, Emerson, Camille, Gabriela and Melody Ellison. I made a list of trademark dates for GOTY names, so we can guess if the GOTY name is trademarked now.
