Well, this is ironic. Literally the day after the Truly Me sale ended, American Girl dolls rose in price to $115. The dolls cost this much before between August 2014 and October 2019, however, doll prices were $98 for a brief time in late 2019 and early 2020. The pandemic caused prices to rise again to $110 in May 2020, and prices rose again today due to rising inflation.

if you want a cheaper doll you have to go check the trift store i found a relly nice one that was only $5 and she came with a carebear outfit and it is relly nice quality.
I wanted to bring a few other things up. The free shipping also got raised to $145 from $140 and today I noticed that the return policy is now only 90 days compared to 1 year previously. I usually buy stuff during their summer and black friday promotions and hold on to it for Xmas and birthday presents. Now I'll need to be careful and NOT buy ahead.
so like. to be completely fair. this is technically less than the original ag dolls– in 1986, an ag doll with paperback book was $68 (i don’t believe accessories were included in that? could be wrong tho). Adjusting for inflation, that would be ~$174.43 today so we’re still on the cheaper end But it’s still um. Not a great sign. With all the other expensive stuff they’ve been dropping recently. Like they do know most of us aren't rich influencers right?
we're lucky it's only five bucks, at least.
*sigh* :/
