Doll of the Week: Kirsten!

We're restarting Doll of the Week this week, but with fun facts about every doll! This week's doll is Kirsten!

Kirsten is from the midwestern pioneer era in 1854. She was released in 1986 and retired in 2010, but was brought back for a limited time in 2021. She has the Classic mold, blond hair, and blue eyes.

A fun fact about Kirsten is that she wasn't supposed to have bangs! Girls in the pioneer era didn't have them. However, because Samantha and Molly had bangs and Pleasant Company was new and couldn't afford another wig without bangs for Kirsten, Kirsten has bangs. She also is the only original doll not to have a Best Friend doll or a movie.

Allthough they aren't historical accurate-I think Kirsten looks cute with bangs! Kirsten looks a lot like me. We both have those style of bangs. I would have made her hair ribbons and her dress light blue though-they would go better woth her hair

I so wish she had a movie!! If their looking for actors, I'd be glad to volunteer :)

Also, I think it would be super cool to make a Singing Bird doll. I think they were hesitant to do another Native American doll, cause of Kaya, but I think it would be super neat, especially since they're from different tribes and time periods.

The reason Ag didn't make singing bird her best friend is because she isn't her best friend. Kirsten's best friend died. She only new singing bird for a very short time.

Kirsten is amazing! Even though she has one of the best Ag stories she often gets overlooked.
