Today, the last episode of Miraculous Ladybug's fourth season aired, and boy, was this season the best Miraculous season ever! I loved the season a lot, so I figured I'd post about it since it's a slow AG news day. This review contains no spoilers for the finale, so don't worry, people who watch Miraculous, I won't spoil!
If you don't watch Miraculous, the series is about two teenagers from Paris who have magic jewels, the Miraculous, that they can use to transform into superheroes, Ladybug and Chat Noir, to protect Paris from Hawkmoth, a villain who turns ordinary citizens with negative emotions into unique supervillains.
This season mainly dealt with Marinette (aka Ladybug) becoming the Guardian of the Miraculous box after the events of the Season 3 finale while dealing with the added pressure of taking care of the box, her crush on Adrien (aka Chat Noir, but she doesn't know) and confiding in her friends more to balance the pressure. Adrien also had an arc this season, as he dealt with being ignored by Ladybug and figured out how to feel important to her again. Hawkmoth also got another Miraculous and became Shadowmoth, a more powerful villain with a master plan to get Ladybug to make a mistake so he can fulfill his goal.
This season was amazing. I loved the character development, the revelations, the plot development, and the extension of the lore surrounding Gabriel Agreste (aka Hawkmoth/Shadowmoth). My favorite episodes this season were Gang of Secrets, Optigami, Wishmaker, Kuro Neko, and the two-part finale, The Last Attack of Shadowmoth. The finale was insane and I can't wait for next season already! WHEN WILL IT BE JUNE? I NEED SEASON 5 NOW!
I would rate this season 10/10 unironically. It was so good!
If you want to start watching Miraculous, the first 3 seasons are on Netflix and the fourth is on Disney Plus. If you have cable TV, it also comes on Disney Channel often. I'd obviously highly recommend it!
