So, lately I've been thinking about which AG doll will retire next. With Claudie releasing soon, I bet American Girl might want to make some space for her. So which dolls do you want to be retired next? I say Julie, because I feel like she's been around for long enough. I'm just kinda tired of her... (Sorry if you like Julie...)

I completely agree with u about Julie she’s been around FOREVER!! I was also thinking about her retiring bc I saw that her accessories were on sale and her collection has seemed smaller. But apparently she is one of Ag’s best selling historicals along with courtney so I’m not sure they would retire her. i also thought of Rebecca since they have not done anything with her for quite some time, if they don’t retire Rebecca they might just cube her 🤷♀️
These aren't who I want to be retired but I have a feeling Kit, Samantha, Josefina or Addy will be the next ones to go.
Don't hate me for this, but Kaya. I know she's the only Native American doll, but she's been around for so long, I don't like her collection, and I find her books dull and written in an awkward fashion.
Explaining why I find the writing weird, I re-read the books recently--from an adult perspective, almost 10 years after I had first read them--and noticed that the author made there be several subplots through the main six books, but instead of interweaving them and making a little bit of each one happen in each book, she focused on one per book. For example, one book, Kaya would be separated from Singing Rain, then we would completely forget about that and come back to it one or two books later.
Plus, this is just me, but I'm an indoors person. Hence, I enjoy reading about Rebecca, Felicity, Addy, etc., who spend most of their time indoors, not Kaya or Kirsten, who live in the wild. Then, Kaya's collection seems kind of boring, and her "free spirit" is more one of rebelliousness and carelessness instead of spunk and curiosity. (She does grow in character, though, and that I like.)
What I would love is for the books to be about Singing Rain instead. I absolutely loved her. She was mature, kind, thoughtful, sweet, and brave in the most beautiful way. It's hard to explain, but despite being so shy and quiet, there was a solid strength and determination at her core. Ah! If only the books were about her, or if there was a doll of her! 😍
So... in case you haven't gotten the message, I think Kaya should retire. 😂 If you disagree, please be nice--I know she's probably some of your favorites and don't mean to hurt feelings or make you mad. Sorry for writing such an essay of a reply!
I really just want the older dolls to come back revamped. Maybe retire them now and get some new and improved collections ASAP. Seeing Josefina with her and herself alone did something to me when I went to the store yesterday;;;; I want Addy, Samantha, Josefina, Rebecca -- all of the OGs to go back to their former glory.
And while I do like Julie quite a bit, I think she should be put on the back burner for a while, maybe even retired fully. I would like to see her return in a few years with a more...impressive collection than her current one. I'm talking going back to the 2000s historical accurateness from her first release.
*I beg that they bring back Felicity and actually give her some love unlike that horrid BeForever version;;;; (I own her and love her dearly, but come on, give my girl some respect back.)*
Where are we getting sales statistics for these dolls? I hear a lot of "X" is one of the best sellers, or "Y" didn't sell so well. Does AG have an actual sales statistics page? I would love to see it for real. I'd find it very interesting trying to decode why some sell better than others...

Rebecca is gorgeous and her collection is beautiful and high quality so I really want her to stay also I agree Julie….. I’ve personally gotten kind of sick of seeing her everywhere and her clothes are so costumey
