ok so I was scrolling on Facebook marketplace and I searched “American girl doll” usually there’s nothing New but i saw this listing of 2 old dolls and they looked so familiar then it hit me these are the Gotz romina and romino dolls! so if you don’t know heres what’s on Ag wiki “Götz was the first designer and manufacturer of the initial release of the American Girl Historical dolls Samantha, Kirsten, and Molly and the designers of the limb molds and Classic Mold (from their "Romina" face mold), which Pleasant Company purchased from Gotz” So the gotz romina and romino dolls are quite literally the prototype for American girl with the only difference being the the vinyl torsos. And these dolls Romina and Romino being the boy version were only made from 1984-86! So they are super valueable and hard to find!! sold prices for these dolls that I could fine were $600-1200! And I got them for $45! Anyway here they are

They were in a very used condition with the boy having completely loose limbs and head, the clothes yellowed and stained not to badly tho and rough hair.

also the couple that sold the dolls to me said they’re grandma/in law gave them the dolls in the 80s! Isn’t that neat? And the lady/ wife said to pls not separate them bc they are brother and sister! Awww isn’t that so sweet! 🥹 so yea im in the process of restoring these poor dolls and I’ll post more about them soon!! also im not trying to brag just want to share a cool find!!
