Well, as some of you know, I’m giving away 6 dolls (Jada, Luciana, Sofia, Lia, Lanie, Ben), and one outfit + pajama set per doll. Here’s the goodbye story. And sorry I posted so much today: on the recents it wont show the recent Evermore chapter, it’s on general ag chat.
Luciana
Just looking at my suitcase was hard. Touching my pajamas and clothes were, too. “Hurry up, Lanie!” Alex called, and Lanie trotted out of her room, lugging her duffel bag. She hardly looked sad.
Wow.
Downstairs, Ben stepped on Gina the dog’s foot by accident. She whimpered. “Step on no pets!“ Alex shrieked.
“A palindromic sentence,” I observed.
Jada’s emo self was more emo then usual as she made sure she had everything, which was barely anything.
As emotionally hectic as this situation was, Sofia was dancing through the kitchen. “Why so...happy?” Lia seemed to be crying.
“STAYONTHESUNNYSIDEALWAYSONTHESUNNYSIDESTAYONTHESUNNYSIDEOFLIFE!” Sofia chanted, and then took a breath for the first time that sentence. ”MUSTSTAYHAPPY.”
“Not everything is happy.” Jada glared into Sofia’s 14-year-old soul. “Death. Pain. Murder. Kidnapping. Can you be happy then?”
Sofia whimpered.
“Um, I’ve experienced two of those.” Scarlett grunted. “Who all’s leaving?”
“Sofe,“ Alex used Sofia‘s nickname, “Luci, Lia, Lanie, Jada, and Ben.”
“Ben?”
“Yeah, Ben.”
Scarlett screamed in joy and burst into song; Happy Day by Crowder.
“Your sister is a terrible example,” I whispered to Sofia.
Jada
”Hurry up, Lanie!” Lanie ran out of The room next to me, as I hugged (yeah, I hugged) Daniela.
“You’ll do great. C is so good with hair.” Dani reassured me.
“How do you know?” I moaned. Yeah, I was getting rewigged. But MY HAIR IS NOT A WIG!
“I don’t.” Dani is too honest.
I trudged out, my soul feeling as dark as my black shirt.
Gina whimpered, and I looked down, Ben had stepped on her paw. “Step on no pets!” Alex cried, and Luciana observed it as a palindromic sentence.
Lia choked on tears as she stared at Sofia. “Sofia, why so happy?”
She blasted out some song about the “sunny side” from the speaker, the speaker being her mouth.
I stared her down, head to toe. This girl, am I right? “Some things aren’t happy.” I told her.
She cowered.
“Death. Pain. Murder. Kidnapping. Where’s the sun in THOSE?”
“Jada, stop.” Alex warned.
Scarlett made note that she’d experienced pain (who hasn’t) and she’s been kidnapped (she won’t stop talking about it).
She asked who was leaving, and Alex recited; “Sofe, Luci, Lia, Lanie, Jada,” I sighed, “and Ben.”
Scarlett burst into song (probably because Ben is leaving) just as Luciana looked down on Sofia. “Your sister is a terrible example.”
Lia
I was crying. I couldn’t help it. “It’s not fair that I can’t bring Gina.” Ben was saying, as I checked my brother’s packing for him. “I know.” I leaned my head on his shoulder, as Lanie was called downstairs. She rushed to meet Alex, and everyone else, except Luci, who wasn’t there. By the time I got down, Scarlett looked at Ben. “And to think your last prank on me was cracking my phone. You never even payed for it.” “Sorry,” Ben muttered, and then grabbed her. “that you’re making the situation worse!” He growled, and Scarlett broke loose. Luci came down, just as Ben backed up onto Gina’s paw, causing her to whimper. “Step on no pets!” Alex commanded. “A palindromic sentence,” were Luci’s only three words upon arrival. I used my puffy eyes to make out the blurry image of Sofia dancing across the living room. “STAYONTHESUNNYSIDEALWAYSONTHESUNNYSIDESTAYONTHESUNNYSIDEOFLIFE!” She didn’t take a breath through any of that. “Not everything is happy.” Jada scowled. “Think death. Pain. Murder. Kidnapping! Are those happy?” “Stop,” Alex warned. “I’ve experienced PAIN.” Scarlett called. “And I’ve been kidnapped,”
“We know.” I sobbed. “Now, who all’s leaving?” Scarlett asked. Alex recited the list, and I wailed at my name. “Wait—Ben’s leaving?” Scarlett looked happy. “Yes...”
As she burst into song, running around like a madman, Luciana looked at Sofia and whispered “Your sister is a terrible example.”
Lanie
Alex called for me, and I ran down the stairs. My pink duffel slipped out of my hand, and I grabbed it. All the last minute preparations for my permanent vacation were made. I was nothing short of excited to meet C. At least I’d stay with Lia, Jada, and in a way, Ben. Lia was crying. Hard. Luciana, although she was only traveling to the chaotic city of Lanesroom (never heard of it), looked sad as well.
Ben and Scarlett broke free of each other, after a manhandling session. Ben landed on poor Gina’s foot. Gina yelped, and I felt a pang. “Step on no pets.” Alex said, and before I could say it, Luciana called the sentence palindromic. Sofia, who danced through the living room, was suddenly yelled at by Jada.
She told Sofia of unhappy things, and Scarlett announced that two of which she’d experienced. She then proceeded to ask who was leaving, and I beamed when she got to “Lanie”. By Ben’s name, Scarlett had burst into song and dance, and I heard what may have been the last thing I ever heard from Luciana:
“Your sister is a terrible example.”
Sofia
Sun. Rainbows. Cupcakes! HAPPY. I sang a song about this on my way down to the living room. I was the first one down. Stay positive, I told myself, it’s only Bri’s neighbor. And Phoebe will be there...
I danced along the ugly striped carpet. Sun. I hit the coffee table. Rainbows. I tripped. Cupcakes. I looked at the beige walls. HAPPY! Something is severely wrong with me. “Lanie, hurry up!” Alex called. Scarlett and Ben quit manhandling eachother, but Lia wouldn’t stop her crying. I tried to stay positive, but Jada, the emo-queen, thought otherwise. The rest was a blur. Ben stepped on Gina. Luciana said something about a pal-en-drome, and Jada started yelling.
“Not everything is happy.” She told me.
”EXCEPT BEN LEAVING!“ Scarlett cheered. Alex had told her the list. She started to sing, and Luciana muttered to me,
“Your sister is a terrible example.”
Noted.
Ben
“I just don’t see why I can’t take Gina,” I paced my bedroom as Lia checked that I’d packed everything. “Or Scarlett. Maybe J has More prank-loving boys!”
“I know.” Was all Lia said.
Downstairs, Scarlett addressed my final prank to her, and how I hadn’t paid for her phone. Sure I broke it, but she can pay for it. I cursed myself. That’s not how it works. But I still grabbed Scarlett out of anger. She broke loose and I stepped back for balance, landing on Gina’s paw. As she whined, Alex cried “Step on no pets!”
“Palindromic sentence.” Luciana observed. That’s when we saw Sofia dancing and singing.
“Why so happy?” My sister wailed.
“Not everything is.” Jada listed unhappy things, two of which Scarlett had experienced. I wondered who’d kidnapped her. There’s a story. Once Scarlett heard I was leaving, she danced excitedly.
After Luciana said something to Sofia, I walked up to Scarlett. She stopped her singing, and looked at me. “I’m sorry,” I whispered, and she hugged me.
“I am, too,” She seemed to be holding back tears.
After she let go, I scanned the room. The faces of all my sisters, brothers, and Nathan’s face over FaceTime made me never want to leave, although I had to.
I seriously teared up writing the part where Ben and Scarlett apologize.
:(

aww, Bri, this was awesome
(I also love how you wrote it) and they will be missed!
I feel so bad you have to give them away but if you are giving them to someone who will have a greater bond it’s probably the right thing to do!
