why are GOTY pets always dogs and cats? I really wish ag would have unique pets, like frogs, and chickens. But no we always have *forgot kavi's dogs name* flurry or a doll with only the most exotic animals that there whole story is based around.... Why can't a normal city GOTY have a unique pet?

Why is it that pets in GOTY stories are always dogs and cats? Don’t get me wrong, I like them, but I’d really love to see something different — like frogs, chickens, or even more unusual companions. Instead, every time it’s the same: a loyal dog, or a quirky cat, and the whole plot revolves around them. Why can’t an ordinary city “Game of the Year” character have a unique pet for once?
