I am so happy right now! I looked it up, and a stutter counts as a disability.
WE DID IT, FOLKS!
WE GOT A GOTY WITH A DISABILITY!
WE WON!!!
YAY AG!
But this doesn't end my fight for more disabled representation in toys. Gabriela will be out for 2017, but guess who will be out for 2018 and beyond? Special Dolls! The 3D printer came, but one of it's sides doesn't work. Dad's fixing it so I can play around with it after school. But Dad printed a square! I will work on the doll models and (hopefully) print doll parts so a Special Doll can join my doll family ASAP!
Anyways, let's just SQUEE. THAT. GOTY. 2017. HAS. A. DISABILITY!
And all of you kids that say a stutter doesn't count, look up "Is a stutter a disability?" And don't rain on this parade I've been planning since fourth grade.
AMERICAN GIRL TRIVIA: This is the first GOTY with a disability!
COMMENT DISCUSSION QUESTION: Do you have any dolls with disabilities?
MY ANSWER: Of course! Marisol and April have diabetes, Maryellen has asthma, Lindsey has muscular dystrophy (It was reported as "partial paralysis" in her movie, but it eventually grew to that), and Sydney has Asperger's. I want the Arm Crutches for Christmas so a future doll can have spina bifida!
