Disclaimer: I was provided with a free product in return for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are mine and are not of Scholastic, American Girl or Teresa E. Harris.

I received Gabriela Speaks Out from Scholastic early! I just want to start this post by thanking the amazing Monica Palenzuela, the senior publicist for Scholastic for mailing this to me! THANK YOU MONICA!

Now for my review:

I loved this book so much! Gabriela was such an amazing character, just like the first book. The supporting characters made the book interesting too, such as Teagan, Gabriela's best friend who loves beanies and coding, Isaiah, Gabriela's new friend who loves Shakespeare and Gabriela's older cousin Red. This book got me so engaged- I never put it down. The author, Teresa E. Harris, has a special way of hooking readers in from the first word to the very last. The story was very relatable to me because I am in sixth grade and felt like Gabriela when she got teased because of her stutter and because she's new to the school, not because I was just new but also because I have type 1 diabetes and Asperger's syndrome and got teased for that too. It moved me to use my strengths to make my school more accepting of others. There's no School Ambassadors here in my school, but maybe I can do something else. So, on April 25th, please get yourself to Barnes and Noble and buy this book.

What was the last book you read? Mine was Gabriela Speaks Out.
