The American Girl outlet in Hershey, PA is going to open in only FOUR MORE DAYS! I am so excited, so I decided I'd put up American Girl's Q&A with questions about the opening, plus I added some of my own information just in case if any AGDN readers were coming to the opening and wanted to say hi!
When is the store open during Grand-Opening Weekend?
Saturday, August 11, 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Sunday, August 12, 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.
What should I do first?
Upon your arrival to the Hershey Tanger Outlet, please find the ticket-distribution table. There is often a long wait time between obtaining a ticket and entering the store. Therefore, we will be passing out tickets for entry freeing you up from having to wait in line.
Where will the ticket distribution table be?
The ticket-distribution table will be located at the end of the walkway by Tommy Hilfiger.
What time are tickets given out?
Ticket distribution will begin at 7 a.m. on Saturday and at 8 a.m. on Sunday.
What is the cutoff for ticket distribution?
American Girl reserves the right to stop ticket distribution at any time based on space and timeframe constraints.
Can I pick up multiple tickets for my family, or do we all need to stand in line?
Not everyone needs to be present at the time of obtaining tickets for their household. Only one member of the household needs to stand in line for tickets.
Am I guaranteed to get a ticket/entry to the store?
You are only guaranteed to enter the store if you have a ticket in hand, but American Girl reserves the right to stop ticket distribution at any given time due to space restrictions and for the safety of our guests.
Does everyone need a ticket?
Yes. Anyone entering the store (including children in strollers) will need a ticket.
Why do you say that camping is not allowed?
Due to safety requirements and for the safety of our guests, we do not allow overnight camping.
Where is the nearest handicap parking?
The nearest handicap parking can be found in the parking lot in front of the American Girl store.
What happens in the event of inclement weather?
Our opening will proceed as planned if there is inclement weather, so please come prepared with an umbrella if needed.
Can I have my doll’s hair styled that day? Ears pierced?
No. We will not have a Doll Hair Salon or Ear Piercing available at the outlet location.
Will adults be able to receive the giveaway?
American Girl’s intentions are to have all of the attending children receive the giveaway. (Basically, no. Thank god I pass for a 10 year old.)
Will giveaways be offered the entire day?
Yes, while supplies last.
When will Sydney be there?
I'll be at the store on Saturday morning when it opens. I'm planning on getting there early!
What does Sydney even look like?
I have shoulder-length brown hair, brown eyes and wear blue glasses. I'm probably going to wear my Lea butterfly tee and shorts to the opening, and will probably have my rose gold Beats headphones either around my neck or on my head.
I can't wait to go to the store- it's going to be so fun!
