Remember when "Gwynn" was trademarked a couple months ago? Well, I thought due to the timing that name could've been a possible name for GOTY 2020, but now it seems like that theory has been jossed. (Yes, pun intended.) American Girl just trademarked both "Joss" and "Joss Kendrick"!

Now, I think that this name will be GOTY 2020, because of the same "December-February Rule" I explained a few months back: if the doll has a name trademarked between the December 2 years before she's the Girl of the Year (for example, Luciana was trademarked in December 2016) and the February of the year before she's GOTY (for example, Blaire was trademarked in February 2018), it's likely to be the GOTY of the next year. This worked with Gwynn, but since she doesn't have a first and last name trademarked, it's unlikely that would be GOTY 2020.

This may seem like an odd name, but it's actually been pretty popular, having peaks in 2015 and 2006. It also can be short for another name, like Jocelyn.
