An Updated List Of American Girl Dolls That Were Never Made

I did a post like this way back in 2015, but I loved the concept of it so much that I decided to make a list of all the names that American Girl's either abandoned or trademarked before 2017 and never used, as well as concepts that they trademarked but never did.

*AGTV was going to be a studio that produced and distributed TV shows based on the American Girl dolls. It was filed in 1994 and cancelled in 2006.

*American Girl Gear was going to be a line of bedspreads, shampoo, hairbrushes, and board games based on the American Girl dolls. It was filed in 1994 and cancelled in 2007.

*American Girl Athlete was going to be a line of fanny packs, athletic bags and backpacks. It was filed in 1996 and cancelled in 2007.

*American Girl was trademarked in bath and shower gels, bar soaps, shampoo and conditioners in 1999 and cancelled in 2012.

*I Can was in the same vein of AGTV- it was going to produce and distribute TV shows for girls. It was filed in 1997 and cancelled in 2006.

*Animal Parade was going to be a series of American Girl books. It was filed in 2001 and cancelled in 2006.

*Keitra was trademarked in 2002 and abandoned in 2004.

*Yet again, American Girl trademarked themselves as a TV show production studio in 2002. This one was cancelled in 2011.

*Emeline was trademarked in 2008 and abandoned in 2011.

*Laurette was trademarked in 2008 and abandoned in 2011.

*Teagan was trademarked in 2012 and abandoned in 2014.

*American Girl was trademarked in candles in 2004 and abandoned in 2007. This was likely due to the Bath and Body Works agreement they had at the time.

*Lia was trademarked in 2004 and abandoned in 2006. They ended up having a doll with the same name, but a different spelling...

*Shelly was trademarked in 2005 and abandoned in 2007.

*Diane was trademarked in 2005 and abandoned in 2007.

*Peanut Brittle, Red Velvet and Fudge were trademarked to be American Girl dogs. They were both trademarked in 2010 and abandoned in 2014.

*Barbara was trademarked in 2015, but it's never been used.

*Della was trademarked in 2015, but it's never been used.

Was this interesting? I also found out about some American Girl events I've never heard of (something related to American Girl that Sydney hasn't heard of- SHOCKER!), so I'll do some research and post about those later!

Now, I'd like to see a TV show about the main American Girl dolls! I think Samantha's story would be an epic anime, but if we ever got one, I'd assume it would be live action. What story would you want to be a TV show?
