A Closer Look At The American Girl Truly Me Luxury Dollhouse

Yesterday, American Girl released their revamped Truly Me line, including a dollhouse for the line. I only posted one photo of the dollhouse, but I figured I'd showcase more photos of it!

What do you think of this dollhouse? I think it's cute for younger kids, but I'm personally not sold. I'd rather have something like the dollhouse I have that was built by my old friend's mom.

I looked up the Our Generation Doll House and - I can't believe I'm saying this - I like it so much more than what AG came out with. Basically white with pink accents - but nothing painted on, looks like furniture will fit - and it comes with a nice kitchen and bathroom - and other furniture - all for one price - $350!! and I can get a 5% discount if I use my Target Charge Card - and free shipping!! AG is charging a $25 surcharge to ship large items. By the time you add taxes on over $1,000, and the $25 surcharge - you are probably at around a $800 price difference!! I hate to …

I've seen the OG house on sale for as low as $199 before...probably before this summer's inflation, but still. Watch the sales and it will pop up for a good price! ❤

I think it looks like cardboard. And it is screaming BARBIE in my face. No way, AG.

I don't like painted walls, no room for the furniture AG sells (modern or Historical), takes up too much space for what it is, probably great for young children who aren't old enough for AG 18 inch dolls anyway??? I prefer the Ikea shelves that some have that you can decorate yourself and actually showcase the doll's furniture!!

Sorry - when I go to buy I will have to do research as well. I just know I've seen pictures of them that people turned into doll houses - and I like the idea of having a place for my AG furniture - over a huge item with pictures of furniture.

I’m lucky to have a space in my attic for all of the doll furniture I own, to make a “house” for them. so I wouldn’t buy it. Side note, why is the pool on the second floor?

Probably to make the pool seem 'in-ground', if that makes any sense. If they had it on the ground floor, they would have to make it look more of an 'above ground' style. Just my guess!
