A Little Personal Update

Figured I'd let you AGDN readers on this thing that happened to me today. In 2019, I asked you all if you would want to see a feature-length American Girl stopmotion intended for teenagers and young adults. You all resoundingly said yes, and thus, my Sophie Award-winning stopmotion Rebelle was born. Once I posted the stopmotion, however, I didn't feel done with it yet, and I developed the concept further in hopes of it becoming a real movie.

Today, after nearly five years of work, a development producer offered to help me with the next steps of making Rebelle a real movie. At first, I didn’t believe it. Throughout this entire journey, the words I have heard the most, more than any other, were “no” and “unfortunately”. I was so used to rejection that I expected it, and part of me worried that this long-held dream would never come true. But today, this miracle happened, and without your support, it wouldn’t have.

So thank you all for supporting me and my world, especially those who have been supporting it all since the original stopmotion. I am so proud of what Rebelle has become, and I cannot wait to reintroduce Erika, Kierra and the Revolution to the world when the movie finally comes out.

Thank you all, best blog readers in the world!
