The best thing that I love about the Marie-Grace and Cecile books is that their stories deal with friendship. I have always loved stories of friendship, which is why I really love the Best Friend characters. I was so glad the best friend characters have their own story told in their own perspective. I hope the best friend characters make a comeback.
I also love how Marie-Grace and Cecile's stories deal with different perspectives of living during the Yellow Fever epidemic in New Orleans. Marie-Grace's story focuses on the Americans side (which back then the people of New Orleans regard as outsiders), while Cecile's story deal with New Orleans locals and the lives of black people at the time, both…
