American Girl 40th Anniversary Release News + New Courtney Items Next Month

On the fine print for a Berry Rewards event in May, the exclusions revealed that there will be a 40th anniversary release next month, as well as new Courtney items.
Additionally, 5 out of the 6 Modern Era Collection historical WellieWisher-sized dolls have started shipping. Shipments of the Addy doll have been delayed to June, presumably to change the background of the box after complaints from fans, as well as Addy's original author, Connie Porter.
As someone following the releases, the delay for Addy makes sense—feedback about historical presentation is important, especially with input from Connie Porter. It’s interesting how fan response can reshape products mid-release, kind of like how in FNF game the boyfriend adapts to each opponent to win the girlfriend’s approval. I’m curious to see if the revised packaging better reflects Addy’s story.

This may sound crazy, but the last time that the Addy in her original Meet dress, accessories, etc came out, I purchased her but never took her out the box. I looked in her box maybe a year ago and realized that her accessories weren't in there. I called American Girl and they told me that the window to get them technically replaced for free had ended in 2024. I wish that I could purchase them separately now without having to but a whole other Addy.
I see they have felicity back so that's great especially for red headed girls!! that said I don't quite understand the exact differences between the last releases of everyone else why they'd be on pre order too, unless they have not yet finished updating photos or something I am trying so hard to justify another samantha if there is t going to be that much a difference from the last model lol but so far it just looks like new boxes which isn't even a collectors window or anything special to make it worth it

I really hope they are not changing the Addy box. Then it won't match the book. That's ridiculous that people got mad but have never once thrown a fit about the actual book cover.
