American Girl Charlotte Closing on February 17

Well... this is probably the saddest I'll ever be posting on AGDN. Because today, American Girl announced my home American Girl store, Charlotte, is closing on February 17th.

I should have seen this coming - the lease was up, and AG would rather renew Orlando's lease than Charlotte's. But I kept delusionally checking the site, looking for any sign that it would stay open, but nope. AG sent the email out today. It's closing. For real.

I'm so upset right now. I know I'm going to be in Nashville during college for the next two and a half years, which guarantees me access to the next 2 Girl of the Year releases for you all, but after that? I don't know. My plan was to move back to Charlotte after college, but because of my career paths, I will be traveling a lot, so my hope is that I'll be able to find a way to take pictures for you all for the big AG releases (GOTY launch, any historical launches or refreshes) after that. I've gotten a lot of comments over the years that my store photos have helped a lot of you guys who's local stores have also closed, and my hope is that if I'm able to still get to the stores that aren't closing, I can still make that happen.

And also, one more thing... I'm going to try to get to Charlotte on February 17th so I can go to the store on the last day of operation.
