And let’s just call it what it is. American Girl wanted to make money off both and knew that people wouldn’t spend for a doll that looked almost identical to the play line version like they’ve done with the other releases, so they were forced to switch it up and not make the collector look as much like Cinderella.
I don’t like the collector version of Cinderella at all. They should have done her hair in the bun and done the play line in the side ponytail. That way kids could play with the hair in the cheaper version and the collector would stay in the bun. Also, the dress looks less like the cartoon version they were trying to imitate. The play line says classic Cinderella more to me. Really disappointed since I collect the collector dolls.
