American Girl Holiday Collab with Janie & Jack

Writer's picture: AdminAdmin

American Girl announced yesterday on their website that they are going to be doing a holiday-themed clothing collaboration with the children's clothing brand Janie & Jack, who they previously collaborated with last year for the launch of World By Us.

I was so tired yesterday morning when I woke up to blog that I missed this altogether! Thank you to the commenters that pointed this out so I could post this!

Well, I’m excited although I don’t think I’ll buy since their sizing probably doesn’t fit me, but I’m excited to see more collaborations in the future :D I really loved the love shack fancy release!

I don't like Janie and Jack, they never have any 18/20s and the 14/16s always shrink!

AG should collab with companies like Shein or something

why is everyone shocked a luxury doll brand would collaborate with luxury clothing stores? lol I'm just saying AG was never known to be cheap like ever..but you can always shop your local Etsy shop, learn to sew or look elsewhere lol what's also happening is gas and the housing market are getting cheaper again, so inflation is softening. plus everyone still making 15+ an hour when they used to make 7 lol

Um, wow. No, not everyone is making $15 an hour. Inflation is not softening (or else the Fed wouldn’t be dropping another rate hike tomorrow), and quality outfits on Etsy cost as much or MORE than AG ones in some cases. Was Pleasant Company expensive when I was a kid saving for my first doll? Yeah. But my comment about AG becoming an elitist boutique wasn’t about the cost so much as the trendy tie-ins. Why? Why can’t we just have nice clothes that aren’t rehashes of old outfits?

Also, their product has become less of a bang for your buck. Think of all the clothing items the first few Girl of Today dolls came with. Now it’s dress/shirt and…

Why do they have to do a collaboration at all? Can't they just make their own stuff? And if they're going to do a collaboration, do it with a reasonable price store. Don't they realize we're at record high inflation and heading toward a recession? Would have been nice to have some cute things for Christmas. They're making Our Generation look better and better. To be honest, the quality isn't that much different anymore.

Im sure they sell well because AG is also a luxury doll line, to feature the luxury brands shouldn't be a surprise honestly. they probably both get some kind of deal with the sales they make together for promoting them and vice versa. I personally love it. while there is inflation people are also getting paid double what was average before which is what caused inflation to begin with, also gas went down and so has the housing market.

AG is developing something of an elitist boutique feel with these releases. I miss the more quality offerings there were in the past where you got closer to what you paid for. Now shoes are starting to be plastic like any old Our Generation outfit.
