American Girl Movie Axed By New Paramount Owners
In 2023, Paramount Pictures bought the rights to make a movie based on American Girl. We had some updates since then, but in mid-2025, the company Skydance bought out Paramount. The company also recently bought out Warner Brothers, and now, Ynon Kreiz, the CEO of Mattel for eight years, is the co-CEO of Skydance. However, based on a list of movies the combined company is working on, American Girl is nowhere to be found, meaning the project is dead yet again thanks to a corporate merger, just like what happened to the MGM American Girl movie when Amazon bought them a few years ago.
