The filmmaker Lindsey Anderson Beer, an American Girl fan who has worked on movies like Sierra Burgess is a Loser and Pet Semetary, has officially been announced to be directing the theatrical American Girl movie in production at Paramount. She was previously attached to write and produce the movie, and she still is. This was announced in an LA Times article about the CEO of Mattel.

Ugh...I'm not excited for this movie just based on the premise. I feel like its going to diminish the quality of AG's brand (although it already has gone down hill). AG covers serious historical moments and usually addresses serious topics. I was hoping for a movie based on one of the characters, not this weird back-to-the-future type story. The director is not giving me much hope, either.
Hmm. That's not a good resume tbh
That’s good news! I can’t wait to see the movie! I still wonder what it’s going to be about. I heard it has something to do with the historical characters and time travel.
Wasn't she supposed to be the director? Anways, I'm really excited for this movie. It'll generate lots of new AG fans, but when Barbie started to get hyped bcz of the Barbie movie Barbies on re sale sites started to get expensive. Do you guys think AG dolls on re sale will start to get expensive once the American girl movie gets hyped? It would be a nightmare for me.
