With the successful release of the Barbie movie that made over $300 million dollars worldwide in one weekend, Mattel is looking to make more movies based on their toy properties. And yes, American Girl is a priority for the new Mattel Films company.
The head of Mattel Films, Robbie Brenner, said about a new family comedy in the works based on the American Girl dolls, “We have something great in the works.”
Fingers crossed that is true!
I really just want a good-old historical comedy-drama. But I know most people these days are not into that sort of thing. People are obsessed with campy adventure stories, I guess. But to see a Kaya movie come to life or even Addy...to me those are stories that should be told on the big screen.
I’d like to see something where the dolls come to life, as opposed to a live-action story about the girls
how exciting!! :D
I was thinking it could mean that work about a bunch of kids going back in time to history. There was a previous post about someone mentioning something like two kids having trouble in history class and going back in time to learn about American history. Robbie Brenner could be referring to this, but of course this probably just a rumor. But there is still no news about the Corinne movie.
The movie could be the big announcement at the end of the year! But I have a feeling there’s something bigger in store!
