American Girl Nicki and Isabel Book Authors

Writer's picture: AdminAdmin

Nicki and Isabel's journal authors have been rumored to be Jennifer Roy (for Nicki) and Julia Devilliers (for Isabel). Both authors are twin sisters, who are also both Jewish. They also both wrote the book series about twins, Trading Faces, in the late 2000s and early 2010s, and Julia's book How My Personal Private Diary Became A Bestseller was adapted into a 2006 Disney Channel movie, Read it And Weep. Julia also ghostwrote a chapter book series for Dance Moms star Maddie Ziegler, and Jennifer is most known for her Holocaust novel Yellow Star.

I loved the movie Read and Weep! I remember when I was in high school I watched it and it was good. I hope we don't just have journals though. Nothing beats an actual book. My and my twin are probably going to read them regardless. I'm both excited and nervous. I hope the journals stay true to the American Girl feeling at least.

I think the Journals come with the dolls and the actual books come later. I think this gives parents a chance to read the fiction first and see if there is anything controversial (in the parents opinion) so they don't have to buy the books but can still buy the doll.

ngl the journals sound good and they’re a fun concept!! but it feels like Ag’s trying to slowly phase out books and it’s really sad bc the books are the like main reason Ag was even invented!!

Why would they do that unless they decided the books and/or the Historicals don't matter anymore or never did in the first place and/or want people to forget they existed?

The writers are twins AND Jewish!? I did not expect that! But then again, it would be quite fitting since the Nicki and Isabel are twins and might be Jewish and I guess that confirms it! :) Do you think that they will both have second and/or third books?
