American Girl stores nationwide will have some events in January to welcome the brand new Girl of the Year, Corinne Tan! While the descriptions give no clues about the doll, it is nice to know that these events will be going on to welcome her.
Girl of the Year Cake Decorating:
"Your girl will enjoy this extra-sweet Girl of the Year–inspired cake-decorating class in our store. After learning the basics of this tasty craft, girls can take their creative masterpiece home to admire—and eat with family! Each class will have an on-trend cake-decorating theme as well as two facilitators to help girls with any decorating questions they may have. Girls will leave with their personalized cake, plus each girl will receive a goody bag containing the American Girl Baking Cookbook, a Girl of the Year poster, and activity booklet."

Girl of the Year Doll Hair and Manicure Day:
"Join us for a special Girl of the Year–inspired hairstyling and manicure session in the Dolled Up Salon! Spend some time with expert doll stylists as we teach your girl how to style her doll’s hair, paint her doll’s nails, and keep both looking great. The event also includes a goody bag and doll nail polish. We only accept appointments for authentic 18-inch American Girl® dolls for this event. Girls will also receive a Girl of the Year poster and activity booklet for attending."

Girl of the Year Painting Party (Chicago):
"Your girl can show her creativity with color at a fun painting party! First, girls and their families will enjoy lunch in our café. Afterward, we’ll all meet and walk upstairs to Painted Penguin, where an instructor will lead an hour-long class; each participant will be taught step by step how to paint a picture inspired by our new Girl of the Year! Then, participants will be given a special American Girl bag to put their paintings in, and everyone can enjoy some shopping time in our store. Girls will also receive a Girl of the Year poster and activity booklet for attending."
January 16 at the Chicago store
Girl of the Year Painting Party and Lunch (New York):
"This special day promises plenty of excitement; your girl can show off her creative side with a fun painting class inspired by our Girl of the Year! A representative from Private Picassos will provide an hour-long class on basic acrylic painting techniques. Girls and adults who want to participate can swirl up their own colorful masterpieces on watercolor paper. Afterward, celebrate your creativity with a meal in our café, which includes a beverage, shareable appetizer, and entrée; then, you can end your meal with our signature mousse flowerpot. Girls will also receive a Girl of the Year poster and activity booklet for attending."
January 15 at the New York store**
Girl of the Year Cookie Decorating:
"Come celebrate the soaring spirit of our newest Girl of the Year at a sweet event! At this event, girls will use their imaginative flair to decorate cookies representing her story. We’ll provide to-go boxes to take home their finished creations. Girls will also receive a Girl of the Year poster and activity booklet for attending."
January 17 at the Chicago store
