American Girl Starts Promoting Girl of the Year 2025

Today, American Girl posted a music video on their YouTube confirming that the Girl of the Year 2025, Summer McKinny is “almost here!” There’s not much other information about her in the music video, just archive clips of old videos with the past 5 Girls of the Year, but it’s nice to note that AG is starting to promote that the next Girl of the Year is coming!

I don't really understand the hate with releasing GOTYs before Chrismtas.. if you don't want to buy her until January you dont have to. until January lol but people who want them as gifts this way can get them earlier..they rarely get sold out and when they do they always restock them at least once.

Agreed!! It gives access for more people! And, increases sales possibilities so the company can stay in BUSINESS and keep making dolls for us to enjoy versus ceasing to exist in which case we’d have no dolls at all, much less Girls of the Year.

Car companies release their new car models in the fall of the year previous to the year model also. It’s not an unheard of or unusual concept. Families who want to keep their New Year tradition can buy the doll on New Year’s and have a party themed to the Girl of the Year to celebrate even though the release is not on that date. I'm so excited for Summer! Again, I wish she was being released later, but I'm still happy! I really like this video. AG's stop-motions are my favorites, but the animation . . . not so much. I hope Summer's YouTube series has more stop-motion than it does animation.
