Here is something else that is interesting. I was clicking on the new cover and I saw an image of a silhouette of an adult Samantha just like the silhouettes that American Girl used to have for their historical characters. Samantha is shown wearing her heart-shaped locket in her bun.
I know this is unnrelated. I went to the Simon and Schuster website to look at Samantha: The Next Chapter. The book cover has been updated! The cover is still the same with Samantha wearing a burgundy dress and her heart-shaped locket in her hair. Except there are now borders with the year 1920 on the bottom. Just like the old Pleasant Company book covers. I feel like the book cover is much better now.
