Mia St. Clair is the Doll of the Month for December 2024!

Mia St. Clair is from upstate New York in 2008. Living in a lower-class family with 4 hockey-playing brothers, she cleans her local ice rink in order to have time to skate, and usually has to play hockey with them. However, when a new ice skating coach joins the rink, she is encouraged to pursue her passion of ice skating, and learns how to be the best skater - and friend, and sister - possible. Mia St. Clair was revealed on a November 2007 episode of the Oprah Winfrey show, and was released on January 1, 2008, and retired on December 17, 2008.

Mia has a charming design, and it's always fun to see the creativity behind each Doll of the Month release. Sharing details about the inspiration, accessories, or styling ideas makes these showcases even more enjoyable for collectors. I got Mia for Christmas back in 2016 when I was eighteen with Chrissa, Jess, Lindsey, Just Like You 8 (Azalea), Just Like You 6 (Camillia) and a second Just Like You 20 (Amaryllissa). I like ALL American Girl dolls, but Mia is one of my favorite Girl of the Year dolls. I don't know why, but I think that Mia should have been Girl of the Year 2007 and Nicki Girl of the Year 2008 instead. And by the way, Mia and I are born the same year, 1998.
