As a kid I bought her red dress and dragonfly cardigan, and then the next year I bought Kanani for my birthday. For some reason, I always made my Kanani wear that red dress, to the point where I didn't even realize it was Lanie's outfit until I was an adult because I ALWAYS had it on Kanani. lmao

All of her outfits have something nature-inspired embroidered either on a shirt or a skirt! Like the dragonfly. Though butterflies play an important role in Lanie’s story it appears Lanie is also into dragonflies. I love how she has her stuffed orangutan In her collection which represents her best friend Dakota going to Indonesia with her father to study orangutans. 🦧 If we were to get a book about Dakota as the main protagonist it would be similar to that of Jess and Lea and Kira’s.
