Yesterday, users on American Girl Instagram spotted a leaked American Girl T Shirt reading “2027, Camp Gowonagin”.
If you’re an eagle-eyed American Girl fan, you know exactly what this means! Camp Gowonagin was the summer camp Molly went to during her stories in 1945.
However, the specific date of 2027 makes me wonder if Girl of the Year 2027, Daisy Davenport, will have a Camp Gowonagin connection.
Will Daisy just be an attendee at camp? Will she, like Raquel, be related to Molly?

They give more historical things to GOTY than they do to the actual historicals. I don't care if I'm the only one that thinks this, I do not want this. I feel like GOTY is being set up to replace the historicals at this point. We could have gotten a new historical or new items for the historicals. Maybe even new books for the ones who have not been treated as well. Instead, they think its better to just remake and remix GOTY to be the "daughters/granddaughters" replacing them. GOTY used to have their own unique perspectives. Now they have become a gimmick, a shell of itself.
I also got to point out that this is similar to how we saw leaked images of Raquel's t-shirt showing Piney Point Pickleball. It is a good chance Daisy could go to Camp Gowanagin. I imagine maybe Daisy would be interested in tap dancing or vegetable gardening or has a tea party. She would also learn something about World War Two, similar to how Raquel learns about women's suffrage. It would be interesting if Daisy could be a direct descendant of both Molly and Nanea.
oooh! i hope she's related! maybe daisy sees her great grandma (wow imagine a 92 year old molly!), who suggests going to camp gowonagin just like she did all those decades ago! ;D
