Sorry if I start a debate here, but my friend and I were having a discussion a while ago about whether Josefina should be considered an American Girl. When she was born , in 1815, the area she lived in was part of Mexico. In February 1848, the us made a treaty with Mexico, which added land to the us. The land Josefina lived on would then be considered America. She would have been 33 when this happened, so probably still alive. What do you guys think? Should Josefina be considered an American Girl?
