Also, a quick update on the Dolls Kill knockoff situation:

I just checked the website a few minutes ago, and the costumes are still for sale. However, if you type "American Girl" into the search bar, they are no longer the first results. Instead, over 500 random outfits come up. Hopefully AG comes out with an update on this soon! Or, hopefully they just stop selling the costumes.

I'm glad people are taking note of Dolls Kill's company ethics. I was browsing their website again, and they've stolen a lot more ideas than just AG's! I hope other companies can find out about Dolls Kill stealing their designs and do something about it.

I forgot to mention today is not only Ruthie’s birthday but is also Folklore Day. Ruthie loves fairy tales.

In the Kit series and in Ruthie's book, Ruthie is illustrated with brown eyes. But her doll ended up with gray eyes. Just like Molly! But in Kit's Movie Ruthie had blue eyes. (I think in Molly's movie she had brown eyes.) So basically Ruthie has three eye colors?

Ah! Sometimes the written word can be ambiguous and play tricks on the eye and brain! I see now after rereading it you meant something like: “In her own movie Molly had brown eyes also.” Leading up to that statement it just appeared to be all about Ruthie, so apparently my brain perceived that statement to be about Ruthie also. Thanks for clarifying! Sorry about the misunderstanding!

It is interesting how they kept changing Ruthie’s eye color, isn’t it? I’ve always wondered why they didn’t just match the doll eyes with the character eyes in the books. Movies are entities for which it’s harder to control all of the details, but presumably American Girl had full control over the books…
