American Girl, in collaboration with the collector Mattel site Mattel Creations, has made a new collector American Girl doll based on the original Barbie doll from 1959. After the success of the Barbie movie earlier this year, this was pretty much inevitable - and she goes on sale tomorrow for AG Rewards and Mattel Creations members! 5,000 Barbie American Girl collector dolls were created, and she retails for $300.
It is disappointing that so few of these dolls were created. It is incredibly sad that only 5000 were made.
These collabs get weirder and weirder. I can't help feeling like this is a little girl wearing adult makeup and clothing. It's weird. Of all the dolls to make based on Barbie, why not do the Barbie based on the checkered dress?
I don’t thank anyone in AG awards would get it unless if they are a true Barbie fan, plus it’s $300, I personally thank it’s NOT worth the wasted money when you could get a Truly Me doll and some accessories then make it look like Barbie doll and it save money too!
Just don’t thank it’s worth the money and you’re just throwing 300 dollars in the sink. NO USE!!
No one has mentioned yet so I will. There are Swarovski crystals on this doll. So that explains why it is also $300. As much as there are many devoted Barbie fans including myself (I love the Barbie fairytale movies like Fairytopia Diamond Castle, the Nutcracker, and Magic of Pegasus ) I don’t think this will sell well because of the price. This Barbie doll is fortunate since I recently changed my picture to a ballerina doll of Annika from magic of Pegasus that was part of a toys r us exclusive.
I was expecting the box to be pink though! at the very least.
