No, we aren't talking about Our Generation dolls or My Life dolls. We're talking about any other 18 inch doll that is vaguely like AG, but not a real American Girl doll.
Why am I asking this, you may ask? Well, for the past few days, I've been on vacation in Tennessee, and I went to Dollywood for the first time, a theme park based on the singer Dolly Parton. In the gift shop, however, I saw an 18 INCH Dolly Parton doll. With a guitar and everything.
A Barbie, I'd be expecting. But not a full-blown 18 inch doll!
^This is the doll I saw^
So, I was wondering - have any of you guys seen a 18 inch doll randomly out of the blue like that? I will look at everyone's responses and post them in a few days!
At the evergreen state fair, someone hade made a whole product line and everything, entered it in some contest and won! It was really cool!!
I just remembered I went to a store in Florida once that sold knock-off AG. Like, that was even apart of their sales pitch. That stuff was expensive, too. I think the 18 inch dolls were $70. I might add that these dolls were undressed and not in any sort of packaging, which seemed absurd to me.
In the 90s pretty much every 18 inch doll was trying to be AG. I remember the Global Friends dolls which were basically educational dolls from around the word. There was also The Magic Attic Club dolls that came with varying costumes and accompanying books.
My favorite are the Queen's Treasure's Little House line, and the Canadian Maplea Girls but now I HAVE to get ahold of Dolly. I did have a Barbie sized Dolly back in the day, but one to join the current group would be fantastic!
I was at a sleepover, and my friend's dad found an English version of AG dolls. I'm not lying.
