Sad news today on AGDN: Kelsey Lewis, who was the actress that played Nellie O'Malley in the movie Samantha: An American Girl Holiday, passed away on October 29. She was 29 years old, and was involved in a paragliding accident in California that cost her her life. Lewis in 2004 Since the American Girl movies were made not too long ago, I wasn't expecting the day where I had to make a post like this to come anytime soon, but unfortunately, that day has come. Kelsey's performance as Nellie touched so many people, including me, and gave light to the important issues in her story, including themes of poor working conditions and child labor that resonate to this day. Kelsey's talent shone through in her performance, and according to the source that reported her death, it seems like she kept that talent going all throughout her life, as she spent the final years of it as a dance instructor and DJ in San Diego, California. I have no words for this tragedy. Rest in Peace, Kelsey, and I am sending love and light towards the Lewis family as they navigate their loss.

Here's the details on American Girl's newest Disney Princess doll, Moana, who is now available for pre-order! Moana was revealed last month, when Disney officially announced all the toys available for their new movie Moana 2, which hits theaters on November 27th. According to a few sources, Moana will go off of pre-order and onto general sale on November 27th, the same day Moana 2 comes out. Moana has been on pre-order since yesterday. Moana is the first medium-skinned doll to have the Corinne mold. Moana has some of the longest hair for an American Girl doll so far. Moana is American Girl's third doll of Pacific Islander descent, and the first one that isn't mixed with another ethnicity. Kanani is mixed with Hawaiian, European and Japanese heritage, and Nanea is mixed with Hawaiian and European heritage. Unlike Summer McKinny, Moana's box has a window. The pre-orders for Moana are going to ship on November 27th, in time for winter holidays and Moana 2. Here's more pictures of Moana!
