I just saw on Reddit that someone used my blog's name to spread a rumor that 2025 will be the last year for the American Girl of the Year line. I am just posting about this to clarify that this rumor is false, and that I never said that 2025 is the last year of the Girl of the Year line.
Before you attribute an American Girl rumor to me, please make sure I actually posted about it. I don't want false words to be attached to this blog's mouth, in order to keep the news here reliable and to keep the blog that has been going on for nearly a decade going.
Thank you for understanding!
That just so rude, plus we all know on AGDN ( American girl doll news) you would not say something like that.
PS “Why would American Girl close in 2025”🤔
PSS “ They must REALLY hate American girl to say something like that!”
I'm sorry you are being wrongfully accused like this. People really should check their sources.
Honestly, I wouldn't be upset if they did retire GOTY tho. After all, with more and more historical dolls becoming more "modern history", eventually historical dolls will be what we see today as "GOTY". Nicki and Isabel are probably the most modern historical dolls they have released and to be honest some kids don't even see the difference between them and the modern characters (their outfits are very modern looking imo and I grew up in the 90s). At this rate, it would be better if they prepared to make new dolls representing other eras in the recent past (2000s, 2010s, 2020s, etc). Plus, nosta…
So sorry to hear this has happened. I’ve been reading this blog daily ever since near the time Claudie was almost released. So I know you never mentioned that 2025 would mark the end of the girl of the year line. I think they will keep introducing new girl of the year characters every year even though they will probably still be reusing repetitive themes and talents. They should still keep the girl of the year while paying more attention to the historicals.
it looks like it was posted to reddit by an AGtuber who has been problematic in the past, most recently a few months ago i think? so it's possible that they're still trying to cause problems by spreading misinformation and making false claims to incriminate other people. not super certain about their motive, but i wouldn't be surprised since it doesn't seem like they have learned any lesson after being called out before.
I'm sorry that happened to you... :( Seems to me it was posted by someone who had some personal thing against you specifically and WANTS and HOPES the Girl of the Year line will in end forever in 2025.
