American Girl is partnering with Penguin Random House to release more than 50 American Girl books as audiobooks this summer, as well as into this fall and in the spring of 2023.
The books included will range from the historical series, contemporary character books like Girl of the Year and World By Us, the WellieWishers series, and nonfiction titles like the classic The Care and Keeping of You.
“Generations of girls have loved reading about these characters, and we’re excited to work with American Girl to give voice to their stories on audio, pairing these beloved characters with narrators that reflect their diverse range of backgrounds,” says Amanda D’Acierno, President & Publisher of Penguin Random House Audio.
“American Girl is pleased to partner with Penguin Random House Audio to create audiobooks that bring our characters’ stories to life in a fun new way,” says Jodi Goldberg, Senior Director of Content Development for American Girl. “Whether girls listen at home or on the go, they’ll always have their favorite American Girl stories by their side.”
The first wave of over 40 titles will release on June 7. Titles in the first wave include the Step into Reading book Samantha Helps a Friend, Courtney Changes the Game, Corinne's meet book, Makena: See Me, Hear Me, Know Me, Willa's Wilderness Campout and the 20th anniversary edition of The Care and Keeping of You.
Samantha's book will be read by audiobook narrator Saskia Maarleveld, Courtney's book will be read by background voice actress Jesse Vilinsky, Makena's book will be read by TV actress Nicole Lewis, Willa's book will be read by cartoon voice actress Cassandra Morris (also known as Sabrina in Miraculous Ladybug for all of my fellow Miraculers!) and The Care and Keeping of You will be read by video game voice actress Emily Woo Zeller.
I'm excited about the accessibility this will bring... and to hear Sabrina talk about American Girl dolls!
For some reason it's so funny to imagine Sabrina talking about AG dolls.
ooh neat! :D
I wonder if they'll redo the Historical audio books that already exist or not. It would be nice if they did, so that the short story collections for characters that have them could be added. Either way, I'm over the moon that this is happening!!
🥳😮😲👏🏻🙌🏻👩🏻🦯 thank you! 🙏🏻
