Kit lives in Cincinnati, Ohio, with her parents and her brother Charlie, during the Great Depression in 1932. Her best friend is Ruthie Smithens, who was also made into a doll.
Kit is a resourceful and plucky girl with a can-do attitude. She is a tomboy and tends to not enjoy flouncy things like pink and dresses, and her hobby is writing. She dreams of becoming a news reporter one day, but the news she reports changes once her dad is laid off from his job as a car salesman and the Great Depression hits close to home for her. Her family takes in boarders to make ends meet and pay the rent, and throughout her stories, Kit learns the value of keeping a positive attitude in the face of adversity.
Kit was released in 2000 and is still available. However, she was cubed in 2019.
