Did you know that there is such thing as a Not!Girl of the Year doll? These are Truly Me dolls that come out soon after a Girl of the Year is retired (or even sometimes during her availability) that somehow resemble the doll. This has became less of a phenomenon in the late 2010s and early 2020s, but it was very widespread once, and even occurs today, to a lesser extent.
Here's a list of all the Not!Girl of the Year dolls:
Just Like You 23 - Lindsey Bergman (released in 2004, 2 years after retirement)
Just Like You 24 - Kailey Hopkins (released in 2004, shortly after retirement)
Just Like You 28- Marisol Luna (released in 2006, 1 year after her year)
Just Like You 30- Jess McConnell (released in 2008, 2 years after her year)
Just Like You 33- Nicki Fleming (released in 2009, 2 year after her year)
Just Like You 37- Mia St. Clair (released in 2009, 1 year after her year)
Chrissa did not have a Not doll.
Just Like You 12 was remodeled to become Gwen Thompson
Just Like You 47- Sonali Matthews (released in 2009, during release)
Just Like You 56- Lanie Holland (released in 2011, 1 year after release)
Just Like You 76- Kanani Akina (released in 2018, 7 years after release)
McKenna did not have a Not doll.
Just Like You 61- Saige Copeland (released in 2014, 1 year after release)
Isabelle and Grace did not have Not dolls.
Just Like You 66- Lea Clark (released in 2016, during release)
Just Like You 67- Gabriela McBride (released in 2017, during release)
Just Like You 46 was remodeled to become Gabriela McBride
Just Like You 82- Luciana Vega (released in 2019, during release)
It could be argued that Just Like You 83, another curly-haired, green eyed Josefina mold who released in 2020, could be Blaire Wilson's Not doll.
Joss Kendrick and Kira Bailey did not recieve Not dolls.
Just Like You 124- Corinne Tan (released in 2022, during release)
As Kavi Sharma is Girl of the Year still, she has not officially gotten a Not doll.
Next time I go to my dad's house (where I keep most of my dolls), should I take pictures with my Girls of the Year and their Not counterparts?
