Tomorrow is a big day for me. After years of having severe back pain due to scoliosis, tomorrow I'm finally getting back surgery.
I wasn't expecting to have surgery at this time of year: a time where AGDN usually has the highest volume of posts due to deals, rumors, and the new Girl of the Year. But this year has been unexpected for all of us, and the surgery I was supposed to have over the summer got moved to the beginning of December.
I was diagnosed with scoliosis when I was in seventh grade, and it was really hard for me. I had to stop making stop motions frequently due to the back pain, missed a lot of school over the last few years, and did everything I could to stop my scoliosis for good. When I was in eighth grade, I went to Pennsylvania during winter break for a scoliosis program. I did exercises every day for years. I even filmed the entirety of Rebelle in a back brace. But none of these things worked for me, and my family decided to get me surgery for the 48-degree curve in my back.
It's an exciting and stressful time for me, and it will be a long recovery process, so AGDN might change a bit over the next couple of weeks. Don't worry, it will only be temporary, and I'm sure that my usual Girl of the Year content will stay the same come the last week of December. I might not be able to get to the store for her release, but if I can't, my sister will go to the store for me, take pictures and pick up the doll.
The content of the posts will stay the same, obviously, but the volume is the main thing that might change. I will try to post deals when they happen, but instead of a post every day, it might be a post every 2 or 3 days for the next week or two. This will most likely be my last post until I get home from the hospital, which will be on Saturday or Sunday, and then for the week after I get back home, posts will be every 2 or 3 days. Daily posts will return eventually. Hopefully, sooner rather than later.
Thank you guys for supporting AGDN throughout the years! In January, it will be seven years since this blog started, and it's all thanks to you guys that it's still going strong seven years later. This might be a different kind of time for posts, but I'm sure you guys will understand. Once again, thank you so much.
I hope all went well for you and your not in to much pain.
I have a bad back too,so I can relate. I hope everything goes well. By the way, when you get the time, could you list the excercises you do for your back. Thanks.
good luck! CAN'T WAIT FOR GOTY LEAKS:)
I am so happy you can have this surgery. You will do great. We will all be sending happy wishes to you, your family, your doctors and nurses. You have created a deeply caring community. We are there for you.
We all love and support you, Sydney! I hope your scoliosis treatment ends well! I’ll surely miss you and your posts, but understand why you have to do this.
xoxo, stay safe!
