The Longest Available American Girl Historical Dolls

Updated: Nov 4, 2022

Based on a comment from AGDN reader miley14tam, I decided to make a list of the longest available American Girl historical dolls from longest available to shortest available!

  1. Samantha Parkington (1986 to 2008, 2014 to present, 30 years)

  2. Molly McIntire (1986 to 2013, 2018, 2021, 2022-present, 30 years)

  3. Addy Walker (1993 to present, 29 years)

  4. Josefina Montoya (1997 to present, 25 years)

  5. Kirsten Larson (1986 to 2010, 2021, 25 years)

  6. Felicity Merriman (1991 to 2011, 2017 to 2019, 2021, 23 years)

  7. Kit Kittredge (2000 to present, 22 years)

  8. Kaya'aton'my (2002 to present, 20 years)

  9. Julie Albright (2007 to present, 15 years)

  10. Rebecca Rubin (2009 to present, 13 years)

  11. Maryellen Larkin (2015 to present, 7 years)

  12. Emily Bennett (2006 to 2013, 7 years)

  13. Ivy Ling (2007 to 2014, 7 years)

  14. Ruthie Smithens (2008 to 2014, 6 years)

  15. Melody Ellison (2016 to present, 6 years)

  16. Elizabeth Cole (2005 to 2011, 6 years)

  17. Nanea Mitchell (2017 to present, 5 years)

  18. Nellie O'Malley (2004 to 2008, 4 years)

  19. Caroline Abbott (2012 to 2015, 3 years)

  20. Marie-Grace Gardner (2011 to 2014, 3 years)

  21. Cecile Rey (2011 to 2014, 3 years)

  22. Courtney Moore (2020 to present, 2 years)

  23. Claudie Wells (2022 to present, 2 months)

I was surprised to see that when factoring in all the rereleases, Samantha and Molly have been out longer than Addy! Despite this, Addy is still the longest doll to be sold without ever being discontinued.

Plus, it makes me feel old to see Maryellen release 7 years ago, Melody release 6 years ago and Nanea release 5 years ago... I remember those release days like they were yesterday...

Comment below if I should do Truly Mes next!
