Yeah, I just heard they are now putting up a section for Hot Wheels, so boys and fathers entering the American Girl store won't feel bored. I'm not interested in Hot Wheels. I also heard the quality of Hot Wheels have gone down just like Barbie dolls.

i'm still surpsied with how popular the first barbie collab was that this didn't sell out as quickly when I like this one more. the first one being in only a bathing suit was mid for me lol

The first one being the original Barbie was the selling point for me because I collect early Barbie, but they also advertised to Barbie collectors (she was sold on Mattel Creations as well as AG's website). There were only 5000 made (as opposed to 9800) and I'm sure novelty had a lot to do with her selling out so fast. Mattel actually just did a Monster High and Barbie Collab like the AG one, and they must have taken the criticism about the swimsuit into consideration because she comes with an extra outfit. She's sold super well too, though, despite being a less exclusive release! I'm excited to get mine. :)
