Will Rebecca Rubin Be The Next Doll to Cube?

When I visited the American Girl store on Saturday, I noticed that Rebecca's store display looked smaller than all of the other historical displays. Alas, I forgot to post that on Saturday because after I went to American Girl that day, I saw the new Thor movie and then... forgot. Oops. But today, I finally remembered to post about it.

Here is the display:

Looks pretty lonely, doesn't it? All Rebecca has is pajamas, one extra outfit, one extra coat, a bed (not pictured) and a table set.

On AG's site, if you include her books and mini doll, there is only 18 items in the collection. Meanwhile, every other historical doll has 20 or over. While that doesn't seem like that much of a difference, Maryellen, who has 21 items, has a big ticket item that isn't a bed, a school desk, 3 more extra outfits, and exta accessory sets relating to her interests.

It could also be that Rebecca is getting a refreshed collection, but another reason why I think she'll be getting cubed is that Claudie Wells is coming, and she is rumored to be from the 1920s. While that doesn't seem like an issue considering there are dolls from the 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s in the main historical line, the early 1900s are less popular than the later decades due to the nostalgia that grandparents and parents have for the decades they grew up in, and when Rebecca released, Samantha (from 1904) retired. Another thing to note is that Nicki and Isabel Hoffman were trademarked by American Girl, which means that there will be other Jewish dolls in the American Girl lineup sooner rather than later.

Do you think Rebecca will be cubed? I'd love to know your thoughts!
