- Summer McKinny - American Girl of the Year 2025: What Do We Know So Far?
We're less than a month away from the Girl of the Year 2025, Summer McKinny, so I figured I'd do a post compiling everything we know about her so far! Summer is rumored to have blond hair with pink highlights, light skin, green eyes and glasses. If this rumor is true, she will be the fourth Girl of the Year to have colored highlights and the third one to have permanent highlights, after Isabelle Palmer (non-permanent), Luciana and Corinne. She will also be the fourth Girl of the Year to have blond hair and green/hazel eyes, after Lanie, Isabelle Palmer and Kira, and will be the third doll overall to wear glasses, after Molly and Z. Summer's mold is currently unknown, but online predictions have theorized either the Marie-Grace mold or the Joss mold. Personally, I am predicting a Marie-Grace mold, because Isabel Hoffman also has blond hair, green eyes and the Joss mold, and she just came out last year. It was revealed that Summer has an animal theme, and my first theory was an animal shelter. However, the more recent rumors have revealed that Summer is an entrepreneur and has her own dog-walking, grooming and treat-baking business, called Waggy Pup Tails. This makes Summer the second Girl of the Year to be an entrepreneur, after Grace exactly 10 years before her. There is also rumored to be an animal shelter in Summer's story that she volunteers at! Another fun fact is that Grace's friends, Maddy and Ella, initially wanted a dog walking and grooming business instead of a baking business, and Summer's story is about her doing the same things all 3 of Grace and her friends wanted - baking, walking and grooming! Summer's story in her novel is rumored to be about her joining forces with her friend Daisy, who runs a cat toy making business, to work together to make enough money to go to animal camp, but differing views on how to do things interfere with their plan and their friendship. Daisy is rumored to be the owner of Licorice! I have heard rumors that Daisy will be released as a best friend doll to Summer, but I doubt that because Daisy's name hasn't been trademarked like Summer's has. There are several rumored items that could potentially be in her collection: A cart for selling Summer's dog treats and Daisy's cat toys A pink and purple jacket, white shirt, purple pants and rainbow A black dog A dog grooming set with an apron, towels, soap and shampoo A blue Waggy Pup Tails shirt and denim pants A dog named Crescent A cat named Fettuccine Summer is rumored to be a Nanea mold. If this is true, she will be the first Girl of the Year with the Nanea mold, the second character doll after Nanea, and the third light skinned Nanea mold and the sixth overall. Her meet outfit is rumored to be a rainbow tie-dye dress and tricolor sandals, and her meet accessories are rumored to be a pink headband, a bracelet, a dog-shaped purse, and a drink. Summer is rumored to adopt a dog named Crescent from an animal shelter. Summer is also interested in baking. Here are some rumored details from Summer’s stories: Summer wants to donate some of her dog walking profits to the animal shelter where she adopted Crescent. Summer’s Aunt Olivia moves in to help while her mom travels, and she adds ideas to her business. Olivia brings her cat, Fettecuine, which bothers Crescent, and Summer has to spend the events of her journal adjusting to Aunt Olivia’s arrival and helping Crescent and Fettecuine get along.

- Doll of the Month August 2024: Grace Thomas
Grace is the Doll of the Month for August 2024! Grace loves baking and is excited to spend her summer baking with her friends, only for her life to change when she has to go to Paris for the summer. However, her adventures in Paris cause her to decide to start a French baking business of her own when she arrives in America, which she has with her friends Maddy and Ella. Grace was released in 2015 and was only available for that calendar year before she was retired.

- What Disney Princesses Are Left For American Girl To Make?
Recently, American Girl have been making a lot of Disney Princess dolls with their new partnership with Disney. So, who's left? I figured I'd make this list: Snow White - Snow White was the first Disney Princess, and the protagonist of the first Disney animated feature film ever. She is getting a live-action movie releasing next year, so if American Girl ever makes her, it would make sense for her to be released around then or sometime after. Aurora - Sleeping Beauty has been a name floated around as a rumored Disney Princess doll release for a while, and even though no recent movie releases surround the character, it could be possible for this to happen. Pocahontas - This probably will never happen. Pocahontas was based on a real person and Disney took a lot of creative liberties telling her story, so Disney has been kind of ignoring the character lately. (However, instead of Pocahontas, can we PLEASE get another Indigenous American Girl doll eventually? Kaya's been the only one for decades!) Mulan - Mulan is one of the more popular diverse princesses, even though she technically isn't a princess, so expect to see her in the lineup eventually. Merida - Merida is another character that has had rumors surrounding her inclusion in the Disney Princess lineup. Considering American Girl has teased her on social media, she'll probably come eventually! Moana - This one's a no-brainer: it's not a matter of if Moana will get an American Girl doll, but when. Her movie has been popular enough on Disney Plus that it's getting a sequel coming out this year, and a live-action movie scheduled to come out in 2026. I'd honestly be surprised if 2024 ends with no sign of Moana! Raya - Raya is a bit of a newer character, as her movie came out during Covid exclusively on streaming. I don't recall it being that popular, but if American Girl makes a Raya doll, she would be the first Southeast Asian doll ever made by the company, so AG might do it. Mirabel and Asha - These two aren't official Disney Princesses, but are the protagonists of Disney's newest animated movies aimed at girls, Encanto and Wish. However, despite Mirabel not being a princess or living in a kingdom, I see a Mirabel doll more likely than a Asha doll, for one reason - Encanto did much better than Wish did with critics, audiences and viewership. While Wish didn't make that much money at the box office, did anyone go by at the end of 2021/beginning of 2022 without hearing We Don't Talk About Bruno at least once? What characters would you like to see the most?
