American Girl trademarked a new name today! The name is Kavika.
Most of the research I did indicates that Kavika is a Hindu name.
It's exciting to see that we might finally get our first South Asian doll since Sonali! Maybe she'll be for World By Us, but the name Luciana (GOTY 2018) was trademarked in November 2016, so Kavika might be an early sign of GOTY 2023!
Can anyone help me to decide what doll i should get for Christmas ? I am thinking evette or the Asian sparkling ballerina doll.
Wow!! I can't believe we already know the possible name for GOTY 2023!! I totally agree that Kavika is a pretty name. I hope Kavika is GOTY 2023, because that would be awesome! I totally agree that Kavika might be a girl who likes to play field hockey or a girl who likes to write poetry. If she likes to play field hockey, I'll dress her up in some sort of sports outfit, but if she likes writing poetry, I'll just put her in something random, like a school dress. Either way, I love Kavika already. I can't wait to find out more information about her!
I do not think she will be apart of the World by us collection, I mean, world by us is a contemporary collection, which means they will be out for a short amount of time (I think?) I don’t think that she will be a goty either, its very early, and ag cannot predict the trends of the next years. She might be like Courtney.
"Kavika'' (occasionally KaviTa) is Hindu for gold or golden, which makes me hopeful that we will have an athletic/competitive GOTY (perhaps a runner or field hockey girl?) 😁
