We are closer to the release of Girl of the Year 2024, Lila Monetti, than some may realize.
We were told at first that she would be released earlier in 2023 than the last few days, but this led a mystery of when exactly that would be. I previously theorized September, but I'm back here with another theory.
Lila will release in October.
AG announced that they are having three limited edition dolls this year - FAO Schwartz, Disney (maybe?), and the Holiday doll. The first one released in July, the second one will release next month, and the third will debut in September. So where does that leave Lila? October.
Does anyone else have a different theory for her release?
Honestly, this makes sense. I'm just wondering if people are being more secretive in terms of leaks...
ooh she'd be releasing just before my birthday! :D
Yeah, that's exactly my theory! I previously made a comment on a Happy Birthday, Evette! post about Lila being released in October. This would make sense since August and September will releasing two different collector dolls. I don't think American Girl would release two dolls in one month (with the exception of Nicki and Isabel and Marie-Grace and Cecile). If you don't know this, but October is also Italian-American Heritage Month (Columbus Day is in October). Lila could be full-blooded Italian-American or at least partially Italian. So releasing Lila in October would be perfect.
I think she would be released around early to mid October, since American Girl might be releasing some Halloween outfits. The FAO Schwarz collector was released…
Do you think the September collector doll is going to be the holiday doll for this year? When did they previously release the holiday dolls? Anyway, I agree with your theory that Lila will be released in October.
more of a random thought, but lila’s colors are very autumn-y, (oranges, browns) so releasing her in October would fit perfectly :))
