Yesterday, it was announced that the Tyson's Corner Mall in McLean, Virginia - the Washington DC area - is undergoing a renovation in the area where American Girl is currently located. The owners want to replace the area the American Girl store is currently in with a market, so it seems that the current store will either move or close. Since DC is now considered a flagship store, I have hope it will move locations!

American Girl is releasing 2 new books on January 6, 2026: "Ultimate Smart Girl's Guide to Being Your Best" - a compilation of all the Smart Girl's Guides WellieWishers - Riddle of the Robin is rereleasing with a new cover!

With Makena about to retire once her stock sells out and Truly Me 123 being gone for good, the Makena mold is now officially retired. This is the third American Girl mold to retire, after the #4 mold, which retired in 2011 after 16 years, and the Marie-Grace mold, which retired in 2014 after 3 years, but came back in 2022. The Makena mold was introduced in September 2021, which means this mold had a little under 4 years before retirement. Do you think it will eventually come back?
