- New American Girl Activity and Advice Books Releasing in 2025
American Girl is releasing a few activity and advice books in January 2025 - first, they are releasing the All About Us journal that comes with Truly Me dolls separately, and then, they are releasing a 10th anniversary edition of A Smart Girl's Guide to Drama, Rumors and Secrets. It's nice to see AG releasing more books, but it seems like they've had less of a focus on these kinds of books lately. It could also be just because less books are being made overall, but I also am a little curious with the timing of when they stopped, which was around the time American Girl had the controversy with the Smart Girl's Guide to Body Image book's transgender representation in right-wing political media. It does parallel a bit when AG stopped tackling big topics in modern books after the controversy with Gwen being unhoused, and it is kind of frustrating to see AG shy away from even making books in the first place due to fear of controversy. There are many AG dolls that would have been controversial if they released now, and even some newer dolls like Kira and Corinne had minor controversies regarding the representation they brought of same-sex couples and interracial marriage/anti-Asian racism respectively. But ever since that controversy at the end of 2022, it's seemed like AG's been playing it safe... and it's kind of annoying... Anyways, that's my kind of rant. Do you all hope AG releases new books, too?
- American Girl Bonus Reward For Doll Purchases
American Girl is offering a bonus $20 reward for people who purchase dolls this weekend, from today until Monday, June 10. This isn't prominently displayed on the AG site, but at the top, where it can be missed, I noticed it!
- New American Girl Books Releasing in January 2025
Four new American Girl books are releasing in January 2025: The first two are the releases of Isabel and Nicki's journals to the general public without buying a Isabel or Nicki doll. It seems that the twins might get some new items coinciding with the public releases of their journals, though! The next one is also a journal, but this time for Melody. This is described as a diary, and there is a sneak peek of the art style in the Amazon page: I hope we'll get new items for Melody in January 2025! Finally, the full-length novel for Girl of the Year 2025, rumored to be named Summer McKinny, is also releasing on January 7th, 2025. It's crazy to think that 2024 is almost halfway over and I'm already reporting on releases in 2025! I'm going to turn 20 in January 2025 - and I still love American Girl!

- American Girl Raffle for Palestine Children’s Relief Fund
TW: This post discusses heavier topics than usual on AGDN, such as genocide. Hey everyone! This isn’t an official AG update, but this involves a cause that is important to me, so I figured I’d amplify it here on AGDN. Several American Girl Instagrammers are organizing a raffle of American Girl 18 inch dolls, art commissions, doll clothes and more for American Girl fans who donate to the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund. Palestine Children's Relief Fund (PCRF) provides free medical care to thousands of injured and ill children yearly who lack local access to care within the local health care system. PCRF's impact also includes establishing two pediatric cancer departments in Palestine, a new PICU and pediatric cardiology department in Ramallah, and many more critical projects. How do you enter, you may ask? You can donate to the PCRF at this link: https://pcrf1.app.neoncrm.com/forms/gaza-relief, then send proof that you donated to https://forms.gle/ZH45nQWucgcHyqdt5, and then bam! You’re instantly entered into many giveaways for AG products! The situation in Gaza is heartbreaking, seeing tens of thousands of people, including many children, killed, malnourished and suffering due to the genocide of Palestinians that is currently going on, and while more and more people have been spreading awareness as this situation develops, many other people have been silent or, even worse, have been supporting the oppressors that have been allowing this genocide to go on. Notably, the CEO of Mattel, American Girl’s parent company, has donated his personal money to the Israeli military that has been hurting Palestinians for all this time, with documentation as early as 2014 and as late as November of last year. Some fans have chosen to boycott Mattel due to his stance, as well as other companies supporting Israel. It has been hard for me personally to boycott because my job is literally to update people on new AG products, but from now on, I will commit myself to match any money I spend at American Girl to this organization and other organizations supporting Palestinians, such as Operation Olive Branch, and advocate for people who can’t boycott to do the same, just as I advocated for people to match any money they spent on the Harry Potter collection to charities that support transgender people. I apologize for my silence on this issue on this blog so far. It shouldn’t have taken me eight months to say something, especially when Mattel’s CEO is complicit in this genocide. I didn’t know what to say, to be completely honest, but that is not an excuse. I will try to do better, and I promise to do better.

- American Girl Price Increase to $125
The price of American Girl’s character dolls have increased $10 to $125. To be honest I saw this coming when the Disney dolls were released and cost $125, but to other people, this probably came off guard, which I completely understand. Truly Mes are still $115, Disney is now $135 and classic Historicals are $160.
